Frequently asked questions
ucreate gives your school, college or university an exciting and unique opportunity to write, record and produce radio commercials or TV ads using actual real world briefs from public bodies and major brands across the UK and Ireland.
No, it’s free to take part in a ucreate project.
You’re ready to go! Log in to this website and you will be able to view the real world brief for your project. If you’d like to allow your students to view the brief and use the website away from the classroom they will also need to register.
Play the briefing video as many times as you like so that the students are clear about what is required of them. Download any support material provided from the ‘links and resources’ tab and check out the relevant websites. You’ve then got all you need to complete the project.
We suggest students work on the project in groups of 3 to 5.
Recording your commercials is easy and can be done using any of these methods.
- USB Microphone attached to your PC/Laptop
- Mobile Phone
- Camera/Video Camera
- School Radio Studio
Once this is completed students should submit the commercial to their teacher and the teacher should then send all entries to us via the ucreate platform or via email. Don’t worry about the production quality as the winning advert will be professionally produced. Judges are looking for great ideas that stand out from the crowd, not necessarily the most perfect production.
You can send as many entries as you like! It’s open to all students (unless stated) and the more commercials submitted increases your chances of winning and increases awareness in your school regarding important issues that matter in the community.
Yes, if your students wish to have a go at producing their own entry then please feel free. This can also help enhance their creativity and may help to involve other students with other skills who wish to contribute to the project.
This can be found on the ucreate platform once you register. You can also contact the projects team for support.
All file formats are supported.
You can do this on the ucreate Platform or email. You can also send your entries via Dropbox and We Transfer if the file size is quite large. They are both free and simple to use, please inform a member of our team if you are doing this so we know to expect your files using this method.
